On Friday, July 24, 2015, at approximately 6:55 a.m., Smithfield Police arrested Michael Rhone, age 39, of 15 Indian Run Trail, charging him with Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana, Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana within 300 yards of a school, and Violation of an No Contact Order.
Smithfield Detectives learned Mr. Rhone was unlawfully manufacturing marijuana after an unannounced visit to the residence by Smithfield Detectives and Probation, earlier in the week. Mr. Rhone was not home at the time of the unannounced visit, at which time, detectives observed in plain view potted marijuana plants growing in the yard of the residence. Smithfield Detectives obtained a search warrant and executed the search warrant on Friday morning, finding twelve mature potted marijuana plants and seven small seedlings, inside a room designed for growing marijuana plants.
Present at the time of the warrant’s execution, was a female, from whom Mr. Rhode is prohibited from being in contact with. All charges are felonies.
Mr. Rhone was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Smithfield Police Station and brought to Third District Court, where he appeared before Judge Elaine T. Bucci. Mr. Rhone was held without bail on the Smithfield charges, and is next scheduled to appear in Superior Court on September 25th, 2015, to answer the charges. He was also ordered to serve 4 months on the District Court violation.
