In an effort to promote saying “Yes” to positive alternatives, Smithfield youths join the Smithfield Police Department Community Policing for an annual bike ride that takes participants off-road through the campuses of the Smithfield High School, Anna McCabe School, Gallagher Middle School and Deerfield Park.
The event takes place every October. All riders are required to bring their own bicycle, helmet and water. Check-in takes place at Deerfield Park Pavilion followed by a brief safety orientation. At the end of the ride, refreshments are provided. Parents are always welcome to stay or ride with us. The event lasts approximately one hour.
