The Smithfield Police Department will NOT be conducting VIN Checks at Toyota of Smithfield on Tuesday, December 24th or Tuesday, December 31st, 2019. VIN Checks can still be performed at the police station on the Thursdays of these weeks.
The Smithfield Police Department is pleased to announce a new partnership with Toyota Smithfield, 550 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI. On Tuesdays VIN Checks will be performed by a Smithfield Police Officer at Toyota Smithfield. We encourage you to have your VIN Checks done on this day at this off-site location, as this interferes less with operations at police headquarters. However, VIN checks will continue to be performed on Thursdays at the Smithfield Police Department. Thursday VIN Checks will ONLY be performed for Smithfield residents and businesses.
The State of Rhode Island requires that all vehicles with an out of state title undergo a VIN Check, prior to registration.
