National Police Week – May 12th to 18th

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. According to a proclamation by President George W. Bush, “Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week pay tribute to the local, State, and Federal law enforcement officers who serve and protect us with courage and dedication.”

To all active and retired police officers, to those who served in this great profession with pride and honor and have since passed, and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while wearing the badge, thank you for keeping us safe.
