Clerk- Detective Division: Smithfield Police Department: Full-time, union position. Mon- Fri 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This position is responsible for case management of Detective and Prosecution Division files, and performs general office receptionist, data entry, and clerical duties, as required. Case management includes typing, copying, handling expungements, dispositions, subpoenas, fingerprint cards, arrest warrants and court petitions. Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must have prior experience with law enforcement prosecution related tasks or prior experience as a criminal court/traffic tribunal clerk. Must possess exceptional verbal and communication skills, and ability to interact with the public in a courteous, professional manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and typing is also required.
