On October 18th, 2017, at approximately 12:40 a.m., members of the Smithfield Police responded to Barnes Street in the Greenville section of Town, for a reported home invasion. The home owners advised they were watching TV, when three men entered the home and demanded money. Two of the suspects were described as being of average height and build wearing dark clothing, one described as a white male and the other as a black male. The third subject was described as being taller than the other two, and wearing dark clothing, a knitted ski mask and gloves.On October 18th, 2017, at approximately 12:40 a.m., members of the Smithfield Police responded to Barnes Street in the Greenville section of Town, for a reported home invasion. According to the victims, two of the subjects brandished firearms, one being described as a “semi-automatic pistol”, silver in color with a rounded barrel. The third suspect was believed to have a knife. The suspects demanded money, struck the victims in the face and left the residence with some jewelry, an I-phone and a set of car keys.
The suspects were seen leaving in what was described as an “older model gray Mitsubishi SUV, that was parked down the road from the victim’s home. The victims were treated on scene by Smithfield Rescue for minor injuries.
Smithfield Detectives processed the scene and continue to investigate this incident.
