Congratulations to Sergeant Cory M. Carpenter (middle). Because of Sergeant Carpenter’s efforts in developing and maintaining the Seatbelt Awareness For Everyone (SAFE) Mini Grant, the Smithfield Police Department received special recognition and was awarded a 2014 RIDOT Highway Safety Champion Award. Patrol Officer Beausoleil received this award as a result of his contribution to traffic safety and aggressive enforcement of Speeding Violations, Seatbelt Violations, and DUI Crimes.
